with my GTX 480 I lost 2Msamples/s in the bench scene.

197.45 -> 12.05 Ms/s
257.15 -> 9.8 Ms/s
that's very interesting, thanks for the info.

I make few more test and solve a part of this problem , my Graphic card was overcloked with 197.75 :oops:
I'm return to the stock clocks for this test.

Details for 257.15 beta drivers :

Directlighting : 9.89 Megasamples/sec (variations : 9.86~9.89)
Pathtracing : 3.20 Megasamples/sec (3.17~3.20)
Benckmark render : 12:08 min (default setting , 4000samples/px)

Details for 197.75 drivers :

Directlighting : 11.20 Megasamples/sec (variations : 10.85~11.20)
Pathtracing : 3.30 Megasamples/sec (3.26~3.30)
Benckmark render : 11:50 min (default setting , 4000samples/px)

I don't notice difference in the final render quality .

Regards

Edit : Maybe the final release of 257 will fix this difference of performance.

Im using a GTX480 and getting about 9 megasamples on the bench scene which is even slower than 9.8 using the 257.15 beta drivers. I wonder why mine is slower, can mobo/cpu/psu make a difference?

Don't feel bad; my dual GTX 480 (SLI & physx disabled) rig is getting 17.7 megasamples/sec for a total render time of 8:05 - I was expecting closer to 20

The best part is that I don't need a space heater any more

257.21 whql here too. No problems so far. Performance is only marginally lower than with 197.45.
No need to enable PhysX now, Octane can see both cards just fine (physx is set to CPU in the driver panel).
