The modo exporter doesn't seem to have any options. It outputs full paths, and if the path names contain any spaces, the materials won't be picked up in Octane.point wrote:My .obj file created by Modo 401 with material & environment setting, when i add to Octane it show me only gray scale.

The first thing to find out is if your model actually contains a variety of materials: these are indicated in Octane by the inverted triangles on top of the mesh node in the node window. If the materials are identified, but they are all gray, it's reasonably easy to edit them in Octane using the node inspector.
There's also a script around called mm_Collect.py (Google it) that is supposed to collect all the texture images and put them in a folder you specify. Then if necessary you can edit the .mtl file to take out the paths. It's best if the .obj, .mtl and texture files are all in the same folder.
There are two other programs you can try that seem to be able to read and write a wide variety of formats: you can try exporting in some other format to them and then writing an obj file via the secondary program. They are meshLab and AccuTrans3D. If (like me) you don't want to wait for the official exporter / plugin, you will end up trying a lot of experiments! But it's worth it: there's a lot of satisfaction in setting up your renders in Octane.
Hope this helps,
tim
If there's only one material, or no materials in the exported model, you have a different problem that will require more expert help.
