Just what the title says. After I upgraded to 2.16.2 all my object buffer passes are just black. Did they change something around? I am using the c4d compositing tag like I always have. I cant figure it out. any help appreciated!

It was not octane's buffer. And not broken, i have removed the support. I think that you don't follow what's coming.
Check 2.21 if you are on windows. For mac, 2.20 is better. You should see render masks or render layer ids.

Dont follow whats coming? what do you mean? I have been poking around the forums and saw that the newer update adds render layer masks which basically adds that functionality back. It looks as if that alternative is probably better than c4d's native compositing tag anyway. Thank you for the quick response! Love the software btw. you guys have done a great job.

yes, i mean that. Mentioned several times the dropping of support for emulation of object buffers. That's nice that you found it. Only way it that octane buffers to provide exact masking due dof, motionblur, transparency.
Things are still under development. We are trying to reach production state for passes.

Best,
Ahmet

Thanks

If you have objects with opacity you will encounter problems however. They're working on a fix, which will come in the upcoming release, hopefully!
