There has been a little discussion on whether or not a standard pci based card could be used for display purposes. I can't see why not, but others has said it might not work. I've built 2 systems now with onboard video cards, both nvidia based, and they've worked great. The last one I built had some issues with seeing more than 1 of my gtx470's while using the onboard gpu. This might have something to do with the fact that the onboard gpu actually has a few cuda cores, or it might have to do with the drivers (9300m gpu btw). The other system uses a much older 7000 based gpu and I've not had any issues with it. There is also the Cubix pcie xpander solution.

Check to see if you have physX enabled and see if the gt240 shows up then. If it is already enabled try turning it off. As long as your system sees the card it should show up in octane, some exceptions apply. Also check you bios to see if there is some switch that turns off the pcie slot if the onboard gpu is being used. I can't see why there would be anything like that, but you never know. I am not sure how good any pcie1x card would be.

Good news, I can run both the 6150se and GT240 at the same time.
At first Octane would not run. I tried to reinstall the driver and got a blue screen. It restarted and now it runs. PhysX is enabled and Octane still runs.
I can tell that it is working. Octane Benchmark is faster and my machine is more responsive. 5 to 6 fps inside of hall(?), and 7 to 9 fps outside.
Thanks.
