I was wondering when this would happen. Man it looks good!

Great to see Lightstage and the other tech getting some press.

Well done Otoy!

PS: When did it go live? I might have just been cashing from the forum for a month...

Hey Rappet,
Do you mean Showcase? Works for me on ios 8. Just the Batman news clip is not published yet so the link goes to an empty page. Other than that, it's brilliant!

I have a feeling this year's GTC is going to be awesome.

I got the impression that Otoy lost a bit of track with Nvidia's tech the last 2 years compared to the tight relationship they had in the early years tracking cuda closely. It'd be interesting to how much airtime Otoy is given this year, and at what level.

NVIDIA works as closely with us as ever. Last year we agreed it was best to promote a major announcement like 2.0 in a session dedicated to OTOY. It gave us the time to do a deep dive on our 2.x roadmap for the next 12 months. That was the first time we mapped out every feature we had planned for Octane's foreseeable future - including the uncertain/experimental ones, like fast out of core rendering.

With 2.22, we've come full circle from a year ago and completed every item on the 2.x roadmap from GTC 2014. We're excited to be at this point and looking forward to speaking at GTC 2015 in March:

We hope to see some of you there on the 17th!

If you say so Goldorak, but it's hard to believe that when we see a statement like this one, after the 980 was released:
abstrax wrote:We just got a 980 on Friday afternoon and we didn't have any time to do some proper testing, because we are currently trying to release 2.11. Until we have finished the testing / tweaking we can't say anything specific.
You guys were clealry playing catchup to GM204... In the old days of Refractive Software, I always got the impression they (he) was on top of what Nvidia was doing - by the day almost. I realise the technology had matured somewhat, but Octane is still 100% dependent on a proprietary architecture from Nvidia and it still makes one wonder what is Otoy's strategy / approach to keep up to date with it.

After a disappointing 2013, you guys did an awesome job in 2014! But you're not being very transparent about many things. I know expectation management with us bunch is a difficult thing, but a few pointers about the big things - like your approach to staying in tune with Nvidia, as the technology we all depend on being arguably the biggest - would be helpful.

Best,
