Trying to do a wood texture in octane.

procedural? it looks good, on the short sides you might need a different material with the same "texture" but different turbulence map. They should promote a contest for procedural materials once we get the chance to save and export them.

try using pathtracing to give a more natural lighting effect ?!

Hi Kubo, I know and there is a lot of other things that is not correct with the pegbox as well, it should be put together
of 4 pieces of wood , not one as I did, but still it was more or less a test of the possibilities to get some wood structure from
procedurals.

Hi Radiance,it was pathtracing and your studio01.hdr actually, but I got the message, will try to improve :)
By the way, thanks for a very nice program it´s more or less addictive.

Hi Calico Jack, I did try to get some wood texture from maps and uv´s but I hade problem to get it right, thanks for links will do some
mores tests.

Also, try to bevel the body edges & corners a bit, they'r too rough to be realistic.

By the way, what a Pegbow is?

A pegbox is the top-part of a lute where you adjust the strings for tuning.
