I logged on today to see if there were any responses from the Octane Render team to my latest post, and I was appalled to not only see that entire thread gone, but all of my posts on this forum completely erased!

I'm a student using Solidworks and all I ever posted about here were questions regarding how to get Solidworks and Alias models into Octane.

In the last thread I posted in, I pointed out that there didn't exist a foolproof solution, using cross referencing to another thread as evidence in a direct response to an Octane Render team post, which apparently rubbed them the wrong way to the extent that my very existence on this forum has almost been eradicated.

Well, they may have only lost a student customer, but I was willing to check back every six months to see if IGES support was on the table. But no longer. Also, in this day and age of internet word of mouth and networking, I will definitely not be recommending any of my fellow students, or any of my professional contacts to try this software.

And to think that the simplest thing to do would simply be to say "sorry, CAD is not something we are focusing on right now, please check back in six months".
