Hi,
Can someone explain how to setup an octaneGradientTexture node for making a gradient texture from one color to another like the maya ramp texture?

I'd be interested in knowing this as well, because I messed around with it recently and ended up just using gradient file images because the Octane gradient texture didn't seem to work as I expected (like the Maya ramp).

The octaneGradientTexture is not a ramp texture.
It take the luminance value of the input texture, and remap the black and white value white the selected color.

You can use it to create a ramp style gradient if you connect it to a (cosine) mix texture.

Can you give us an example of the connection order to achieve that?

The cosine has two inputs in textures .. what does the cosine mix connect to ... the diffuse?

I can't seem it to work?

Appreciate any help

Sorry I was mistaken it works a little different than I remembered.

You can however stil get a ramp like effect using the gradient texture. Just connect a sawtooth / triangle or sine wave to the input. If you place a colorCorrect in between you can even adjust the transition by changing gamma.
