Hi there
Looking for some help with an issue I am experiencing. When trying to use octane 2.17 version windows x64 standalone, my computer suddenly shuts down. I have two video cards 780 ti (3 gb) and a 760 for my monitors. I have a Seasonic power supply 1050w.
I know it's octane because it was the only program that was causing the shutdown while navigating but had it set at only 250 with direct lighting.
Any other program is working fine.
Could it be the power draw on that receptacle?
How would I go about understanding what the cause may be? Thanks in advance

How is the aircooling inside your case... Can it be that the temp inside gets too high?
And is the in and out of your PU ok? Nothing blocking airflow of case and or PU?
I once had dust on the back of PU causing shutdown.
Greetz,

I had this issue a while ago (PC was an overkill with plenty of reserves)..only OctaneRender 3dsMax plugin caused to shut down system..later Octane standalone..after few days PSU died (could not turn on computer at all or it booted in cirles).VISUAL360 wrote:Full shutdown and takes about 5 min before I can restart

How old is Your piece?
the PC is only a year old. same for that power Supply
Cooling has never been an issue and most times I have the left side cover off for greater circulation
Still not powering on but I still see power lighting up the motherboard

I am after Glimpse - PSU is probably the matter.

Thanks everyone. Seems to look that way but could it still provide power to the motherboard and still not boot
I would have expected it to be fried and no power at all

Okay just booted!
Do you think it's worth contacting Seasonic Customer Service and do an RMA? I know they have a 5 year guarantee on certain issues.
Just don't know how long that would take and would have to get another one in the meantime
Appreciate the group here. nice to know someone's always out there ready to help. thanks
