aoktar wrote:Yes, that's problem. Thomas will fix that. It will allow to get render layer ID without masking the main render. Also i can advice this custom render layer masks to produce alphas for object groups. Just select as in picture and fire your renderer. There is a sample scene to check in 2.21 topic.
Thanks. I found sample scene from 2.21 topic works fine, so it gives me separate layers with object buffers.
The problem was I couldn't find the deeply hidden Render layer mask tab

Hi Everyone!
So, according to this info do you have only 8 passes?

I think it's a valid point that render layer masks are too deeply nested. For my workflow they are more important than almost all the other multi pass options. Aoktar would you reconsider the layout for the render settings in the future and give them more importance?
Thanks

What kind of more importance? It's as in Standalone with some extra functionality which is added in plugin. And i spent very long times to implement this part.

I think that is a misunderstanding. It's one of the best features having these render layer masks, I am just talking about rearranging the render settings layout as they are somewhat hidden in there. They deserve to be top level as I assume almost everybody uses them regularly for comping purposes.

Hey everyone,
yeah, I think dbalzer raises a good point. They're hidden underneath an fold-down menu. So I often scroll up and down all the multi-pass render settings before I find them. For something that gets used to commonly, I think they should be visible without having to click to show them in the UI.
Thanks
