I see a bunch of triangles in the graph editor, which I assume are all the materials in my scene. I've added a specular node, but how do you add it to the correct surface? Thanks.

the eyedrop icon with a sphere next to it... click on that and then go to your renderview and click on the surface you want to change and the node inspector on the right will automaticly display the property of that surface you just eyedropped

yeah, I knew about that, but that's just for changing materials that are already assigned. I was wondering if there was a way to add a new material to a specific surface.

just add nodes and connect them.
tight click to get the list of nodes.

It would be handy have a list with all the objects in the scene.
Sometimes with big scenes that one mesh node can be huge and trying to figure out which input to plug
the material into can be quite time consuming.

just click on the mesh node and you can swap materials in the node editor.

Is there any plans to display objects/meshs ? in a tree/explorer or individual nodes instead of the one ?

cheers

Thanks Radiance,
I think it would be very helpful, its strange opening a file and not seeing any objects expect one :)

Hey Radiance, I see what you're saying, but the problem is the materials didn't carry over correctly. I imported a car and the body and windshield have the same material assigned to them, so I can't just swap materials.
