Hi,
sorry, assume, that this is not Octane related, but
I need urgend help please!
To render independendly from a second computer with second license,
(not the fastest i/2006K with 16Gig Ram - but a big tower
with good cooling) I ended up to put a Titan-Z into that machine.
My problem is, that the Titan-Z does not render like it should.
GPU-Z shows me a GPU-Load (and also power consumption) toggling
from 1 to max. 35%. Rendering takes years!
I have unchecked "use priority" on both Titan-z GPUs.
I have set in nvidia settings all values to max power.
I have deactivated energy settings in windows settings.
Is my PC too slow for that card?
When putting a second, older, GForce Card in, I get
system crashes (maybe because of too less power supply)
Any idear what else I could check, to get my Titan-Z to run with full power?
thanks

Hi whersmy,
can't tell. There's no info on the case of the PSU.
Its a "Cougar" from an Atelco PC I bought a few years ago.
So surely not the most powerfull PSU.
A few days ago, the Titan-Z runned corretly, but only for one time.
But from 20 render tries, 19 had/have the probem with GPU working
only with 30% load.
thanks

Hi,
temperatures are around 50/60 C° which is normal I think.
So with 30% Load and PowerConsumption it should not overheat.

With an additional older nvidiaCard in that machine I had crashes,
so I removed that additional GPU.

im almost sure its the beast titan-Z
im not 100% sure what the deal was with the 12V rail of a psu, but it`s probably the psu not liking the card.
you need a good rated psu for high-end cards like a titan-Z! reliability, stability.
what was the other nvidia card you tried?

Hi,
for testing I had a GTX 560 Ti together with the Titan-Z in the PC.
For a while this Comp worked well. The GTX 560 for Internet etc.
and the Titan-Z for Octane only.
But after a few days I had lots of crashes/automatic restarts during
rendering, so I removed the GTX 560.
The strange thing is, sometimes the Titan-Z runs with nearly 100%
when rendering. But its a lottery and since 2 days only with 30%.
I can imagine, that you're right with the PSU.
I'll try to get a stronger one, but this sadly does not help
me right now.
thanks

ist not the PSU!
I changed the 700W PSU for testing with a beQuiet 850W and
sadly same thing. GPU Load only max. 30%.
Now I tested another Octane Project and here the Card
renders with full Load.
So its definately my Octane Scene!
But what could be wrong in the scene, that my Titan-Z renders
only with 1/4 speed?
Any idear?
thanks
