Sometimes when OcDS scenes are exported as .OCS files and opened in OctaneRender standalone a random number of duplicate nodes are present in the scene.

In this example you can observe how the scene nodes are duplicated for each object present.

Why does this happen?

In this case there are two Rendersettings because there were two scenes merged.

It seems the more different Rendersettings are created by scene merges the more duplicate nodes are created.
There may also be other random elements that add to the likelyhood of duplicate nodes.

What can you do to prevent this from happening:

- Remove your unused Rendersettings (highly recommended)

Removing the unused Rendersettings that were created when merging scenes seems the most important step to prevent an extreme amount of unneeded duplicate nodes to be created.

- Remove all your unlinked materials (benefitial)

Removing unlinked materials may be helpful to keep scenes clean but may not matter that much when exporting because sometimes they seem to be ignored.

Keep in mind that any materials that you keep in the "unlinked" list will add to the overall size of your .duf scene file as well

In some cases remains of previous material setups can be found when opening up groups of exported materials.
Remember to also clean up your OcDS materials in the OcDS NGE of any unused nodes even if they are not linked to the material output.

- Remove unused Environments (useful in some cases)

Removing unused Environments can help to keep your exported scenes clean of additional unused nodes.

Nevertheless in some cases you may actually want to be able to quickly switch to other environments you created.

After you have done those steps and export the OcDS scene as OCS file and open it in OctaneRender standalone again your scene should be cleaned up without any unnecessary duplicates.
