Hey there Aoktar,
I noticed strong flickering, which gets stronger the higher the coherent ratio is set. Is it a known bug? Because I could only find a thread on the Maya subforum which describes the same problem.
In earlier Versions flickering was not an issue with more than about 500 samples, wonder what happened and when (I have done only stills for severall releases now, so I do not know which release introduced that problem sorry).
I am using Direct Lighting / GI_DIFFUSE / 1111 samples on this specific scene with an Octane daylight.
Cheers
Ralf

you should check different scenarios. I saw same problem on some settings combinations but some others else. Try different kernels, static noise. No need exactly to increase very high max samples. In some fully animated scenes i could get non flickerings with 128 max samples. In the forum, i see similar behaviour from people. Who posts a error post without trying enough on the first problem.

Honestly I am a bit lost on what might cause the flickering and was not able to find any solutions in the forum. Static Noise is a hint though.
I try some more different things...

YEAH!
Static Noise seems to do the trick, at least for the few Testframes I rendered. I am going to render a longer sequence over night though. Thanks Aoktar
Who can I contact on a forum feature suggestion? There are only moderators listed for Octane more or less, no one special for forum features http://render.otoy.com/forum/memberlist ... de=leaders
It would be great if the starter of a thread could flag it as "answered" so that other users who reach that thread by the forum´s search can see if there is a valid answer found already without having to read all posts. This would improve user satisfaction and shrink the forum´s computing time.
