I see a lot of standaloners here and that makes me worry about if there is something huge render-wise that i am missing out on.
C4d plug-in seems to be working just fine.

One tiny little more q: Is it really safe to upgrade to 2.20 from 2.16.. yet..

I think the plugin has pretty much everything the standalone does besides the node editing interface, and it does have an experimental makeup of that. The UI of the standalone is kind of nice but the plugin is integrated really well. I might be missing something.

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm completely happy with the Cinema 4D plugin, but feel like there might be something gained by using the Standalone version.

I'm a bit intimidated by the node graph, though…
