displacement in demo..working?

Hi, finally I'm back on Octane after a looong time and ready to upgrade BUT playing around with the demo available (2.1.6) I see that the material window does work well when playing with image displacement and so on BUT once I switch to the scene or object the displacement is not visible, did play around with object size ( exporting it from Rhino) but still no joy..miss something?
