Has anyone successfully running Blender with Octane Edition on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 with the Nvidia Maxwell video card?

With a startup scene, I executed viewpoint preview:
Tried 6.5 Blender Octane Edition package: I got "Waiting for image..." error
Tried 7.0 Blender Octane Edition package: I got "ERROR: Check console for detailed error messages" error

I installed OctaneRender 2.16 standalone. Tested and worked properly.

But not in Blender viewpoint preview. Am I missing one more step needing it to work?

Thanks for report. I will check it.
These are different issues (I mean what you get in 6.5 and in 7.0). What you get in 7.0 looks like some issues between OctaneServer and the Octane 2.15 OSX SDK I used in 7.0 test version... A little strange, as both Win and Linux versions do not have such issues...
Does Octane Standalone 2.06 work on this machine?

I want to add one more thing:

This afternoon, I decided to do the same installation on my MacBook Pro /w Retina Display. Used Octane Edition 6.5 package and OctaneRender 2.16 standalone. It worked.

Maybe this post will help you narrowing down the issue.

Both computers (Mac Pro + Maxwell card and MacBook Pro /w Retina Display) run on the same Blender packages and the same Mac OS X 10.10.1.

Looking forward to get it working on Mac Pro. :D

It doesn't work with Nvidia with Maxwell chipset. With newer 2.16, it does.

MacBook Pro /w Retina Display (mid 2012) runs fine with both versions.

This is exactly the reason the 6.5 plugin "waits for image" but never gets it back on your Mac with Maxwell - it is based on 2.06 engine version.
About 7.0 plugin issue - as it happens only on OSX version, now I'm almost sure that this is some problem with OSX OctaneServer switched to the new Octane 2.15 OSX SDK. But I will be able to investigate the exact reason and release the fix only two weeks later, as I'm in vacation now. So, you can use the 6.5 plugin for OSX so far, or use 7.0 for Windows or Linux if you need render passes (7.0 plugin is still the test version)...

I really love how we receive such amazing support from Octane team.

I will wait for a new plug-in update using 2.15 or newer.

Thank you!

Edited; Mistyped the version.

I'm still in vacation (as I was when I was answering you previously)..;) Will be able to look at it after I get back into the office...
Remember, that 7.0 is the TEST version, and you are not supposed to use it for the critical projects - please use the current 6.5 for that.
