Done with daylight in direct lighting mode. Took about an hour on my gtx280. Probably looked good sooner, I don't know. I had to remove some fireflies in AE. There's a little bit of post processing also.

Nice, but without chromatic aberration, diamond is like a piece of glass.
And the gold, IMO, is too yellow.

I'll agree with you. The daylight yellow adds to it for sure. I'm having a hard time making anything look less blue or yellow with the daylight.

Are chromatic abberations possible with Octane? I used the correct refractive index for diamond.

unfortunately, right now, now.
And also I think is not possible make some "fake shader" like in VRay or MR.

use pathtracing for better and realistic results. the gold will be gold and the glass will be diamond. ;)
