I recently bought Octane and i started my first project with octane. I'm using a GTS 250 atm, 512 MB. Decent but i feel the need to upgrade to a GPU with at least 1 GB so an upgrade will come in near future.

I started this project for the june still competition, i'm still texturing the pot, the rims and foot still have no wear and tear etc.. This is just a render i did with my progress so far. I hope you like it.

Cool! Reminds me of the poem "Ode on a Grecian Urn":
Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard
Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on;

Well...seriously, where's that porcelain/ clay container from?
Now I am very curious.

It's a pot from Kestner Museum in hannover, but i not all of the texture is from the same pot, i lacked good reference for it. it's always a problem with amateur photos taken with compact cameras, low res, noisy, maybe a bit blurry, without good focus etc..

So i'm using different bits and pieces from several greek pottery artifacts.

in that case i'm even more impressed. Always like to see people putting the effort into their textures. you can really see the love!

Worked some more on the texture, focused on the foot and the checker decoration.

Did some more tweaking to the shading + tested the render with a AO pass made with octane as well.

Now i'm considering this 85% finished, i will start to do the rest of my still for the competition.

looks nice, you can almost touch it (without breaking it, of course) and if it's just a part of your entry, I'm sure is going to be a nice one.
Congrats
