I just purchased Octane Render. I am trying to use it in C4D R16, I have standalone version 2.06 and plugin version 2.12.2. Quadro K5000 card. Everything is activated and seems to be working but I see nothing in the Live Viewer. (See attached).

Am I missing something? I do not have R15 loaded and I am aware the R16 is still in beta but a basically just want to experiment and learn before I use it for any major work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
i can have bad news for you. Latest versions of plugin does not supports old Cuda compute models. Can you check with Standalone? What will you see in cuda devices tab of preferences? Also can you see a device in plugin's devices settings?

I did figure out what I was doing wrong. It was my problem not Octane. Thank you

I am curious, is The Quadro K5000 considered old? With old Cuda compute models?

Hi Aoktar,

I am working on Cinema4D R16 since it was realased and haven't any problem with a Quadro K2000.
I have installed Standalone 2.16 and plugin 2.14, no problem. I think you are wrong about that Quadro is older and so not supported. K mean Kepler and K5000 is the high-end and latest version of Quadro as mine low-end K2000.
Consider that I have an older workstation DELL T7400 1 Xeon X5460 and 16GB ram, I have installed also one GTX 780 TITAN Black 6GB, I use it only for rendering. K2000 is primary display adapter and so I use it in C4D and Octane plugin only for LiveViewer pourpose, if I need more power I disable K2000 and select the faster 780 Titan Black (for very complex scene with many polygons and big textures).
Video driver installed is GeForce 347.09 CUDA 7.0 This driver works also for Quadro...

I have purchased now a DELL UP2414Q 4K monitor, that is perfectly supported by my K2000 at the fantastic resolution of 3840x2160 pixel 60 Hz,
Now I have encontered a little problem with LiveViewer, it works, no problem! But if I reduce to icon the window of LiveViewer disappear completely.
Usually it go to the lower left corner of the screen and so you can resume. I think there is a problem on the plugin, I think it isn't tested on the new 4K monitor.
After the window is disappeared if I click on the green icon to restart the LiveViewer it doesn't reappear.
I need to change the active template of C4D and so i can restart the LiveViewer.
I hope you can solve the problem on the new release.

Many thanks.
Manu

Hi Devoted,

please disable "render perfect" (uncheck) on the properties of the Sphere . This is not supported by Octane!

you can not see what is not possible to render!
