How To : Network Rendering (GPU DR)

yes, still it's same. You need a standalone license on slavesEhmie wrote:I am correct in thinking you need to buy a separate license for the slave computer yes?

Auto Change Daemon Scan Range 192.168.0.1 ~ 192.168.0.254
How the hell do I do this?
Do I have to type that in CMD or where?
On the Master PC within C4D I cannot change the Scan Range. Its grey
When I try to start the slave on the client PC
there gets some lines written in CMD and then CMD closes.
There is no OTOY programm running when I look int the TaskManager
ANy help?

read how to install and run deamonmiohn wrote:is there a walkthrough how to use TeamRender with Octane?
I'm able to connect my slave PC with the TeanmRender Setup.
But I cannot get the slave connected with Octane Network.

I did.
I really have no idear and hate all that network-shit.
But an GPU-Expansion System is too expensive for me.
My SlavePC is not showing up in the list.
(In TeamRender the connection works. But I don't understand what to do next
and how to use it with Octane.)
I have run octane_slave_daemon.exe on the slavePC
I have 2 licenses for standalone and also C4D plugin
I disabled firewall and Antivir on both PCs
My IPs are xxx.xxx.xxx.34 and .35
The Daemon Scan Subnet is 0/24 and I cannot change that.
Maybe thats the problem.
Really need help here!

did the whole process again and now
(don't ask me why)I get my Slave in the list.
But how can I verify, that the slave GPU is rendering?
(Performence I would not recognize, because the SlavePC has a
very weak NVidia until now.)
In LV I only see my 2 Titans and not the third GPU of the Slave.
thanks

Mike,
i have not big info about details for netrender. Because it's done by Octane in background. Abstrax has all info to help better.
But be sure clients doesn't crashed. Also can be well to restart the clients and master when you have problems.

The networked GPU's show up in the top of the live viewer in red. It will say GPU x/x. In order to check if the slave is actually rendering you will need to download a gpu monitor such as GPUZ and this will tell you if your card has a load or not. Make sure that your port is setup the same on each machine and remember to dissable the slave if it was using a different master otherwise it will not work (someday they will get that right. They have other priorities at the moment.) Before you dive into cinema networking get the standalone version connected first and make sure in your cinema octane settings that you point to the Octane.exe that is being used otherwise it just wont work.miohn wrote:But how can I verify, that the slave GPU is rendering?

I hope some of this will solve your problem.
Can you elaborate on this? I'm having an issue with Network Rendering working in Live Viewer but not Picture Viewer.rodross wrote:Ah, so you have to use completely different settings to use in the PV.
