Hey Guys,

I have a scene which im working and have ran into some problems,

First of all a brief description of the scene is, two high poly cars which have been modelled and rigged and an environment which a sort of looks like country lane,

I was wondering what is the best way to do the vegetation for octane? The resources I have available are;
-paint effects because im a maya user
-onyxtree suite

I'm willing to look into new plug ins if they will do the job and octane renders the cars beautifully so if I can get a good render with the vegetation I will defiantly buy the full version right away.

I am aiming for a look like the scene in the gallery of this website with the Mazada but I'm aware that's done in MAx.

Thanks any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there =)

First of all I'm not maya user so I'm going to speak more general (Standalone) &. A bit trom max perspective =)

If You want to get instances in 3ds max & scatter them I'd use Forest Pro by itoo. Carbon scatter, multi scatter works too & I read Guys even using corona? (Though I don't understand how, maybe it has some module for scaterring..)

Anyway, if You're Maya users, I'd simply export scene, open it in standalone & then use something like Phantom Scatter =) there's a huge theea by Guus (creator) on this forum (called phantom scatter) You can generate .csv file with it & usi it to place whatever meshes You like =) grass, trees, gravel, obsticles on air, whatever..- try it, it's really good! =)

I've tried Itoo Forest Pack and it works well, like Tom said. @OP You can always test the free version, forest pack lite, to see if you like it! Good luck!

Thanks guys,

I'll look into these ideas,

I'm so Maya oriented so would like to stick in there but if needs be I would give the standalone a shot, could it be possible to export the scene to MAX use forest pack then export it back?

Then after that find some way to instance inside maya?
