how do i get the floor object to work?

Hi!
I don't know if it's another way, but this is how I do it:
Make a standard plane, then make an octane diffuse material-check the matte option from the material manager. Assign that material to the plane. This way the plane will have only shadow on it.
The next step is to use the octane texture environment and set whatever color you want.
Or if you do'n want your model to be affected by the environment light, you can use an area light in the background with low power.
