Hi Jimstar,

I am often unable to open the hypershade when the Octane plugin is not loaded, I have the message "Error: line 0: Cannot find procedure "octaneInsertNodeDir". This has been happening for some time with different versions. Thanks!

Yes, this is the consequence of ugly Maya's mechanism of providing the Hypershader presence for the plugin... Plus Maya has the bugs in its startup mel scripts (providing this presence mechanism) which are not changed through all the last versions. I explained this in exact details somewhere here already...
I'll try to think out some workaround, as I don't like this too. ;)

any chance there is an update for the maya plugin coming soon, it seems to be getting pretty far behind the standalone version.

It always seems that when JimStar is quiet there is an update coming. Lets hope!

The Blender 2.15 plugin is getting some love and attention.

I'm not the first to bring this topic up, but from the users point of view, it's such a shame that the developers work on multiple plugins.
