Hmm.. maybe someone (er.. Thomas) could whip up a script that does conversions of fstop/iso etc to new system - so folks who need to match real cams still can?....

Otay Marcus, this all looks great, has been thoroughly tested, and every last user just told me 2.15 is rock solid and ready for production... 2.2x Render Layer Passes please! Chop chop! ;)

+1 please, ISO is easier to manipulate because of it's higher values.

sorry, I forgot to thank you for this update. ;)

Nice thank you. Hopefully in 2.5 or 3.0 we will see cool atmospherics (fog, mist, rainbow), clouds, smoke and fire.

I will try to write something tonight.

The plan is to make 2.1x a stable release next week and then to get 2.20 out the door shortly after that.

I think that F stop and ISO must be a plus for a real render engine. Consider that for real utility the response must reflect the behavoiur of real lenses, for example at value of 2,8 F you will have automatically less depth of field and vice versa. Usually an optic has an area perceived as in focus about 1/3 in front of a perfect focus and 2/3 behind focus.
So if you set parameter, automatically will change the other parameters. also a possibility to choose the focal lenght is welcome. You can change F stop and automatically are changed DOF and brightness.
I think you can strive to simulate a real camera as we use it every day. It will be fantastic.
after all we photograph the imagination ... with results increasingly similar to reality

Maybe default to a single exposure slider for hte more casual users but have an option to enable the F-Stop and ISO sliders instead for more advanced needs?

Great update overall!
