Paul,

I noticed with 2.14, the GPU memory feedback in setup window doesn't report correctly.

I use iStat, which shows cpu and GPU memory use. While iStat shows very little GPU memory compumption, setup shows 0 free.

Hi Rick - if you export that scene to ORBX and then open it in Octane Standalone - what does Standalone report the memory consumption as?

Hi Rick - I had a look at this, and it is working correctly for me. Are you running the same release of the plugin and Standalone (ie 2.14)? Are your cuda drivers up to date? When you are rendering in Modo, is it possible you have another scene loaded (in Standalone for example) using VRAM?

Plugin and render versions are correct.

In this case, I am not running concurrent modo and Octane renders.

And I don't use Octane in standalone.

I will investigate further. And try another set of jobs.

I have found that this has to do with the number of Active GPU cards.
Under 801sp2, and 801sp3- With one card active, the Octane setup window reports the correct /Free/ VRAM.
With two cards active- the /Free/ value appears to be divided by some factor that is not exact.

Rick - do both cards have the same amount of VRAM? If you can provide a couple of screenshots on the plugin demonstrating the correct/incorrect VRAM values, and the same with Octane Standalone, I will forward to the Otoy devs to investigation.

Paul,

In the course of gathering screen shots- I have found that on 2.12.1 version of standalone- both GPU's are recognized correctly.
On 2.14 and 2.15 they are not.
In 2.12 I can turn one then the other off and not miss a beat in the render-
2.14, and 2.15 - before compiling the file into the Octane, I can go to preferences, switch on and off GPU, after render starts they just locks up if I touch anything.
2.14, 2.15 show both GPU in preferences, reporting their specifics. When I commence the render- they report that one of the GPU fails.

I will send the screen shots to your email
