HI,

I put together a rendering eGPU for my MacBook Pro using 2 x AKiTiO Thunder2 and 2 x Titan Black using thunderbolt daisy chain. Now Im trying to switch my Titans B for 2 Titan Z and every time I try to connect just one Titan Z Octane and C4D crash. If any one have done this and succeed with a Titan Z please let me know.

I'm not sure, but I have a though what might 'cause some problems..

TitanZ has PLX onboard for splitting/multiplying lanes - that might be a point of problems why this card doesn't work..but it's just a though & anything I could base on facts.

That's my setup in the link!

I could be wrong about what fixed it but I did run into the same thing at first.

The stock Apple drivers actually do run most Nvidia cards, and I think that includes 780s and regular Titans. But, the Titan Z does require that the Nvidia Webdrivers are running and if they aren't and the kext files have been edited to allow tunneling through thunderbolt, the system crashes when the card fires up. If the system boots without the webdrivers running, my comp would crash when I opened Octane. I ended up updating to Yosemite so I could run the latest Nvidia drivers. They might run on Mavericks but I wanted to update anyhow to get it over with. Ever since, everything loads fine.

It could possibly be a power issue? But I think I saw that you are using a powered riser, correct? If so, I think that eliminates the power issue possibility.

This is how my Titan Z loads into System report. Does yours look like this?

Hi Jose,

I just noticed that you're YouTube videos are no longer available.
Did you post them somewhere else?
I just got all my parts and I'm ready to follow your instruction which is not there anymore :(

Thanks
