Hi
I'm a modo user and just started using substance painter and designer. I'm getting used to the workflow of PBR shaders using metal/roughness maps. I tried Marmoset Toolbag 2 to render with this workflow but find that it is a little limited for what I want my renders to look like. I'm not in game workflow. I'm more doing high resolution still imaging.
My question is: is Octane render able to use maps from substance painter/designer to render physically base shaders? Is Octane good to render Skin? with SSS and all epidermis/subdermal maps?
If so, I will probably be an Octane render user!!!
Thanks
octane render and substance painter

My understanding is that Substance Painter will simply feed Modo with texturemaps - in which case the Modo plugin will support them. I did a brief test a while back, and all looked OK. You can test for yourself with the Modo plugin demo version (which is getting quite outdated now, but will give you an idea).

Yes, but you use material "mix" nodes rather than layers. If you look through TonySculptor's threads here you will get some info http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=41114.Is Octane good to render Skin? with SSS and all epidermis/subdermal maps?
