If I set "use all GPUs during F9 renders" to on in the plug-in options, I've noticed that while it does use all the available CUDA cores, it only uses the RAM of my "display" card (a Quadro K4000) completely ignoring the Titan. No big deal (the speed-up from the Quadro is somewhat negligible, so I can happily keep it off) but I wonder if this is supposed to happen..?

Yes, Octane always uses for rendering the memory of the GPU with less RAM available. The whole scene must fit in each GPU while rendering, so you can't work with a scene that doesn't fit in the memory of all GPUs.

Does anyone have info about the GTX780 6Gb cards. Are those in production or gone already?

I have two GTX780 3Gb cards and the memory is not enough. I´m planning to upgrade to 3 6Gb-cards but Titans are very expensive but don´t offer a lot of power comparing to the GTX780s.

What would you get or do in my case?

Thanks,

Thanks,
780 (6GB) as far as I know are out of production =) so You'll be lucky if You find some.. they've been released as last SKUs from gk110 chip based cards. but stayed very short before being pulled out =) no surprise considering the fact they ate Titan(Black) margins =)

Look for them in the second hand market. You may be lucky! I was lucky to find three Titans (but could only afford one).

yeah that's a good idea =) I've actually got TitanBlack (used for 5month, delivered in original packing) for the price of new 780 (6gb)..the good thing is that TitanBlack has reference design cooler so it fits multiGPU scenarios way better =)

Hi,

I have two 3Gb GTX780 cards. During rendering F9, Octane Preview Window tells about Memory (Use/Free): 1248/817. Why does Octane use only ~2Gb? Can I increase the amout to about 2,5Gb?

The problem can be that one of the GPUs is also used as display GPU, so you have less memory available for rendering due to the display buffers, the OpenGL data and so on. If you disable your display GPU you should have near all RAM available for rendering.
