Yeah, i'd really like to know how to get a displacement map from ZBrush to work correctly on a model rendered with Octane.
When i use GOz to transport model and maps from Zbrush to Octane, Zbrush creates the correct value for the displacement value.
I'd like to know how to translate this to work with Octanes displacement values. it doesn't seem to be a simple 1:1.
Also, should I expect the way isplacement works in octane to match the way it works in Vray/c4d etc...? If not, is there any plan to implement this.. A standardised method for displacement is pretty crucial for a render to fit into a production pipeline.
Ifs its not to do with the way its implemented in C4D... and thus the main Octane core... can we bring it up with them as a pressing issue?
Thanks again for an am zinging plugin! just want to make it the best!

Seems like there is no way to make this work.
I ended with a decimation mesh... but thats not the "cleanest" way to work.
I Hope someone fix this soon.

Do you know if this is only happening to c4d? does it affect to modo?

Hey guys,
sorry to dig up an old thread. Been wanting to use displacement maps from zbrush in c4d octane. Does anyone know if a there is an established workflow for this? Went through various forum threads and there's no answer, however googling zbrush + octane reveals successful looking results, so that suggests it might be possible.
Would really appreciate any input or links to anything that might help!

TomGlimpse pointed me in the direction of this thread on twitter which is interesting, but it doesn't really outline what the necessary steps are for getting a zbrush displacement map to work in Octane. Would really appreciate any help.
