Hi all,
the problem is simple: when I try to render anything (an empty scene creates the same problem) the vieport window keeps displaying the alert "waiting", and nothing happens.
I tried everything, even reinstalling the 1.5 Daz Studio plugin but the problem remains. The last unusual thing I done yesterday was the RedSpec TGX texture loading, but I don't know if the problem is connected because I rendered a few images before the plugin stop working.

It should not matter but the RedSpec SSS product uses functionality of Octane 2.1 so to make use of them you'd need to upgrade your OcDS plug-in. You don't mention the version of DS you are using but it is at least 4.6 I hope?
If you start DS normally and then just load a basic item (such as creating a DAZ primitive cube) and then start the OcDS plug-in what happens?

Hi Simon,
ty for your reply
. I'm using DZ 4.7 with Octane 2.0 plugin. I followed your advice and I noticed that Octane started to render again but, before closing Daz (and inside the program), I had to move from "Render" window to "Actors, Wardrobe & Prob" window and shutting down the Octane plugin. Then when I restart the program again, I can render. Old saved scene (with RedSpec) generate the problema again. Sorry for my bad english

Let's start as much as possible with a level playing field. Make sure Daz Studio is shut down. Make sure no other versions of Octane (standalone or plugin - I note you have a couple!) are running. Go to the plugins folder of Daz Studio and in there you'll find a sub-folder called Octane. Move that somewhere safe.
Install (again!) the latest version of the OcDS plugin (the one called OcDS_Setup4.exe).
Start Daz Studio.
Put something into the scene (such as a DAZ primitive cube) so OcDS has some geometry to work with.
Gte up the OcDS main menu (Render> OctaneRender Main or press F12). Go to the System tab and check the bottom two 'boxes' - Messages and Status. Hopefully you'll see Plugin running" in Messages and "OctaneRender for DAZ Studio v2.1.212.4245 is activated ..."
We can also check that you are good to go with 2.1 of Octane by, if you have the standalone version of Octane 2.1, firing that up and checking that your GPUs are being correctly recognised (I had to update my nVidia drivers to get it to work).
I have done all you wrote, but the problem still remains... even worse... Now nothing works, even a simple scene with a primitive can't render... always "Waiting" If I export the scene in obj, and then import in Octane 2.06, it works perfectly.

That's me stumped then ... can you confirm the 'success' messages and status? You mention 2.06 of the standalone, have you tried the latest version (I think there's a later beta available)?Kotoboy wrote:I have done all you wrote, but the problem still remains... even worse... Actually, I may have an answer for you!
I just had the 'waiting' message crop up which panicked me a little as it was following a DS crash ...
What OcDS/Octane is waiting for is geometry - ensure that you eitehr have the Live option (bottom left of viewport) selected or click on Reload to get the geometry sent from DS to Octane.

I don't know how to apologize
