Hello,

i have a lot of lags with octane. If i had little bit larger scene my PC going crazy (i7 2600k, EVGA GTX 780, 16GB Ram, SSD).

1. What is the biggest problem for Octane Render? (i mean blurred reflection, etc, or what?..
i need to optimize my scenes coz i'm waiting too much for loading everything in live viewer)...
2. Every refresh in live viewer slow dow n my PC ass hell - i can't even move with my mouse..
Is there any setting for using my GPU with 70% in Octane Render and the rest 30% for desktop?

Thank's a lot! Good job with updates keep it up..

as for freezes =) well there's a check box in properties where cuds devices are located, You can tick Priority box =) though for me that doesn't work too good & thus I'm using iGPU or separate Discrete GPU =) I'd advice to get that route too.

as for what the most heavy thing..I don't think there is any, but if You make interiors with lots of reflections that would collapse any unbiased engine.. =)

post Your scene, so we could make some recommendation for You this is going to be most effective way to help You out =)

just a addition for performance tips. If you have so much indivual objects on Octane side, this will slow down the renderer.

How can you have many objects? When you making a grass area with render instances,etc.. Thousands render instances can converted to geometry scatters on Octane side.
Also many emissive surfaces will slow down much. Also if you used many objecttags on c4d objects, these will be converted geometry scatter nodes.
Other one, a interior with sun comes from a glass window or a transparent surface.
We can multiply these samples. Best is to see your scene.

I has a similar problem with roof tile render instances. I converted them to geometry in C4D and used the "Connect & Delete command to make them one object. This made it possible to view on my 2 GB card.
