Dears!
I've got issues with Network Rendering from 3ds Max - OCTANE 2.11.1a.
I've got 4x GTX 780 on first machina and 4xGTX 780 on second machine - both with active licenses.
When rendering using Network, everything seems to look OK - I've got 4/4 Network GPU info, etc, but when I look
on slave machine GPUs are alnost not used, and if - with very, very long idle pause.
I've got 1GB Network, and use of it is about max 5% - so I think it's not Network problem.
What can I do to take full profit form slave machine GPUs ?
Best,
raffaEl

gpus are paused to send data to the master machine
every summed pass causes an idle time.

I found the same issue and posted here http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=43037 with no reply from otoy
It seems to be a network bandwidth issue as when jumbo frames are used over the network the problem is reduced. 10gb network prices are not affordable by any means and therefore not a solution. Maybe a better solution will be for octane to send a lower amount of data in a more continuous way instead of doing it in bursts?

Is it a single frame rendering or you render an animation?kcpr-raffaEl wrote:Dears!

OK, it's much better!
Here is how it looks now:
I'm wondering if I would connect two 1GB network connections it could help more...
On Network activity performance doesn't even exceeds 50% of bandwith...
