Hi all,

I am still digging for info about octane and I find this tool: Octane Power Tools

This tool is for animation, that actually made me worry.

The site where this tool is available claims that if someone would lie to render animation then needs to calculate with the render time + loading the scene. In the example that is provided on that site, there is 30 sec render time and 3 minutes loading time after each frame which sound very very bad!

The question is, is this issue solved inhouse or I need to buy an extra licence from this power tool in order to render animation with the same efficiency as I would do a still?

I need octane for animations not for stills, so it would be a great draw back for me.

hi,
the OPT workaround was partially useful in the early stage of Octane.
from v1.5, we can use Alembic for importing objects and cameras animations, plus there are some Lua scripts for animating the camera inside the standalone.
anyway, the best option for animation is to use an integrated plugin, since you have the freedom of animate any kind of parameter ;)

Thanks for the answer!

So if I am a C4D user, then the C4D plugin sort out all that previously mentioned issue?

hi,
yes of course, plus the c4d plugin has some useful options, like object tag, for speed up the updating process ;)
in c4d you can animate any kind of parameters, even with xpresso.
