Unfortunately, we're still having issues with Network rendering.
We have the Standalone 2.12.1 installed on all slaves, Standalone + C4D 2.12.1 the master.
The C4D Plugin can't see the slaves. From inside the Standalone, we do see them.

Thanks,

Hello,

first of all, thanks for your great work!

I had some issues with the node graph editor.
If I build a material from scratch with the node graph editor, load an image to image texture node, insert a displacement shader/node and link the image to the displacement shader/node, the image file is not updated at the displacement shader/node.

If I than reload the image file via c4d material manager everything seems to be alright.
But if I upload the scene and disconnect the displacement port at the node graph editor c4d crashes.

p.s.:
I´d would be really handy if the sun expression tag inserted with an octane daylight is activated right from the start. I was wondering why I can´t move the sun at my first steps with octane.

Best wishes
Martin

What's your OS? i don't know why. If you set all versions are exactly same, it should work. What do you see in network settings preferences? All process is handling by Octane core, i can only notify the guys of Octane.

Node editor is still wip and cannot spend time for a while to improve. I have/had still some problems there for stability and structures. But no worries, i'll check it again. It works transparent rather having a node graph to provide full compatibility.

For daylight, it's created with unchecked enable option. You can check it. I'm revising current commands and gui, please wait a next version.

Re: Network rendering

Slaves are all windows, windows standalone sees them, windows C4D plugin doesn't see any slaves, the list is just empty.

If we do the same from a Mac Master, it does see all the windows slaves, from C4D plugin as well as from the standalone.

Thanks.

be sure any Standalone is not running before plugin register own as master. Do you see any error output on slaves's console? If problems still continues, i'll request a help for you

Have you checked to make sure no firewall is interfering? Try turning off any firewalls (including windows firewall) as a test.

Yes, I am a filmmaker, but that's probably not very uncommon among the people who use this software. Either way, the equation for motion blur in seconds is pretty obnoxious. I know exactly what kind of motion blur I want in shutter speed or shutter angle but calculation that with this 1 second slider thing is odd. Not to mention, the slider goes all the way up to 1 second! .05 of a second is much more motion blur than you should ever want in an animation. I think adjusting this would be pretty easy and worthwhile. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for all the hard work!

Octane has not this attributes. That's the reason why we use only second. It's meanfull for me. Octane has not film camera model. So what do you say? Is it giving wrong motion blur?

its in seconds... just as real world cameras are. if you are filming at 24 fps -- 1/24 = .041666 seconds. If you want a 180º shutter than type in 1/48 into the slot.
