Hi Jim,

any news on the fix for the Gamma, highlight compression etc. in the Octane Imager?
Only works on a simple scene. As soon as I add in more geometry and work on the scene a little more, the settings don't respond.

However, the settings are saved in the scene, as when I output to an Octane scene file and open in Standalone, the highlight compression etc. works fine.

cheers.

Importing a Maya scene in to an new Maya scene worked for a while, but now isn't working.

I'm pretty stuck on rendering the scene with highlight compression and curve?
(I've set up lots of shaders, motion blur etc. in Maya, so I believe outputting to alembic would require having to set the whole scene up again in Standalone).

Here's a simple scene file with Imager issue:

Hi Jim,

any news?
I hope I don't have to redo the whole scene from an alembic, in Standalone.

cheers,

Steve

Just a note on the ORBX format. When opened in Standalone, some of the geometry from the Maya file is missing.

When opening the ORBX file, there are some shutter settings, but these aren't the same as the Maya file, and don't appear to alter motion blur etc.

I'm going to start setting up the alembic file in Standalone, but this means setting up all the shaders, subdiv levels, lighting etc. all over again.

I can't even take the shaders in.

Awesome.

And I guess geometry with different subdiv levels will have to be spit up in to separate alembic files, then imported in to Standalone separately?

cheers.

I know I'm pretty much talking to myself here :D but what exactly is contained in the ORBX file and what is not. Everything except animation?
