Hello fellow Octaneans!

Can some one give me some direction on an Octane 101 (maybe even Octane kindergarten) question. How on earth can I download the LiveDB so I do not have to be online to access it!?

As it's been said before kudos to the Octane/Otoy/Brigade team on such an exceptional and fun rendering solution.

Thank you in advance!

The LiveDB was not designed to be used offline.

Is there anyway of having access to texture images that a LiveDB mterila uses? I use Lightwave and sometimes try to emulate a material in LW Octane. PRobles is if the material has a texture image in it, you can't acually get at it Ti import it into Lightwave. Any way round this?

Hey Gord - you are asking if any way round this. One way that I can think of would be to disable all but diffuse in material and render a plane that matches pixel dimensions of image... that is one way to get the image...

Doesn't Octane now save it into the folder where your .ocs is? I think it makes a new folder, embeded or something.

I have grabbed textures from LiveDB materials and manipulated them in photoshop

Could do that yes, incredibly convoluted for a material that has a few textures though. Good idea though. Would need to figure out how to make the lighting not mess up the image.

Well that would explain why I couldn't find a way to save my life lol. Could that possibly be implemented or is it not an option Otoy wishes to provide??

Thanks much for the response FooZe!! :D
