Hey,
I hope it is okay to post my question in here.
I have recently purchased another GTX 780 6gb for my computer. Now I have 2x780 6 gb and one GTX 750ti, which is used for the displays.
I have now discovered that my motherboard is only capable of running the three cards at 8x4x4. How much does runnung at x4 this impact the performance of my second gtx 780 in octane? Should I get rid of my GTX 750 ti to get x8 on both cards and use the internal GPU for the displays, or is the impact rather small?
Thank you in advance for any advice

I think you would probably find that in practise the impact of 4x rather than 8x is small. It also shouldn't effect the mega-samples per second that the cards render at, only data transfer to/from the card (like when you first load the scene into the GPU and start rendering).
My guess You would not notice any speed bump (loading the scene) switching from 4x to 8x ( & taking taking Your 750Ti out of Your system) but I'm pretty sure You will notice interactivity from going from 750Ti to iGPU =) so if I were You I would not worry & keep system as it is =) as Fooze said, lanes only influence speed of loading, the render itself is not influenced at all =)
