Hi all!
Just finished the car scene. No post processing. PMC, approx. 7000 samples after 5h rendering on Asus GTX 780, OR ver. 2.12.1. I think in might be faster after optimazing the lightning in the scene. What say?

these are my tips for optimizing:

- license plate (white) seems overbright
- colors (blue, yellow, maybe red) seem to saturated. my view on the car gets distracted ..
- inner rim cap says WMB instead of BMW ;)
- how about a darker (or brighter?)car paint? right now it´s not really popping out..
- shadows from car and parking ticket machine seem different
- you could as well delete those two big fans. to me they ruin the shape of the car a bit.

can you tell us sth. about the lighting setup?

look at photography

comments:

all of the above^
+ car looks flat, add a few (high)lights to expose nice curves and shapes of the car
+ play with gamma, some areas that have detail do not show it

Thanks for comments!

Regarding light setup there are 4 planes around the car with radial gradient in the emission and opacity, which were adjusted to get highlights. Also one big light plane outside the building.

The fans are cool details to me, pity you do not like them :(
I'll try to make some PS processing before to change any geometry/lightning, coz 5h of rendering again... nooo

By the way, does anybody know how to make a bloom/glare effect in Post Processing only for exact details, e.g. headlights, ignoring the highlight on the body etc?

The lightning is important in both photo and CG, so the better light setup the better result. Thx for comment!
