I did a test with live footage and 3d tracking. Modeling, tracking, texturing, rendering in C4D.
Compositing done with after effects.

DL+AO

I also rendered DL Diffuse and Pathtracing test version, but since there didn't seem to be any visual advantage using these kernels with this particular scene and materials, i continued on with DL+AO.

really really nice. could you do a quick step by step guide about your workflow, maybe?
i'm really confused how to set up live action footage with c4doctane.

All the work with the live footage, was done in After Effects.
I only rendered out the monument with an alpha channel from c4d. In that render i also had a reflective surface, that i later composited to look like the water surface.
