One more quick question:
Is there a way to have a luminescent texture on an object that doesn't contribute to scene lighting.
I basically need to create a dark scene with a number of small bright dots on objects but i don't want them to slow down the render by being calculated in the GI.
I'm assuming because its a unbiased engine these kind of tricks aren't possible?

With a texture emission and very low parameters, it should work. Of course, parameters depend to the scale of your scene.
