ESC key not working

i'm having a funny (not so) problem: i installed Maya 2015 completely fresh (SP4) no other render plugins installed except octane (latest v2.10). whenever i render a scene everthing is fine, except Maya is not recognizing the ESC key to interrupt a render in progress. My Keyboard works fine, tested!!! Any ideas???

I have the same problem,.. Esc button not working on Maya 2015 SP5 while rendering and Freezes when Viewport 2.0 is on.
