Hello, can anyone suggest the fastest CUDA/Octane card for Mac? Couldn't find this info in the FAQs or the forum.

Apparently some cards aren't Mac compatible but they don't mention that in the specs on the vendor sites that I have checked. Thanks.! -dr

Thanks Alien. Either way I guess I should see if they release new Mac Pros next week. If so, I have a feeling that either the GTX 470 or 480 will finally be Mac. -dr

that would be soooo good. they *really* can't go on selling 3k$ (excellent) machines with those cheap GT120...

I just purchased a GTX 285 for the Mac and did EXTENSIVE research to see it would work with the model that I have. (Never really got a good answer from Nvidia or Apple) As I go to instal the bloomin drivers it says not nividia is not compatible with this mac. I have not installed the card yet and i am hoping thats why... but I really do not want to unwrap this thing in anyway as I doubt I can return it if I do.

Does anyone know for sure if you need to have an Nvidia card in the machine just to instal the drivers. Its probably a dumb question but hey I am hoping I have not bought a lemon.

Thanks

I tried to find the latest drivers from Nvidia but f there is secret MAC site that anyone knows of.... love to hear it

Thanks

I have a GTX285 for Mac running on my Mac Pro, I had no driver problems.

Is it an old mac pro?

Cheers

I thought that the GTX 480 is one of the cards that is already officially supported by PS5 .

I would wait a little to see what's coming out with/for the new Pros... maybe some 4xx series model will be available natively for Macs too
