Hi,
I've donwloaded the demo yesterday and I'm quite dissapointed about the speed with my Quadro FX 1700. I have all drivers updated but performance is sooooo poor that I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my card or with demo version of OR.

To make it clear: the counter of samples shows a progress of 1 sample/second with the Chess scene.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry to say this but you GPU is REALLY slow.
I'm recommend you buy a GTX470 or GTX480 if you're serious about using octane, it will be a wholy different and very smooth experience.

Your GPU is the quadro version of the Geforce 8600, G84 core, 80nm. A slow card compared to today's standards. And also, since it's a G80 derivative, it's not fully compliant with the latest Octane builds, if i'm not mistaken. G80 cards lack certain features required for GPU computing, which for added later on in G92/G200/Fermi.
