Hi,
I have Octane Render 1.55 and have just upgraded to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro. However when i try to run Octane nothing happens - not even a splash screen! Is anyone else seeing this?
Octane and Yosemite - not compatible ???!!!

I have no clue when it comes to a mac, but I will put my 2 cents in anyway.
Did you try to run Octane from a command line? You should be able to see any errors that it has.

Linux Mint 21.3 x64 | Nvidia GTX 980 4GB (displays) RTX 2070 8GB| Intel I7 5820K 3.8 Ghz | 32Gb Memory | Nvidia Driver 535.171

Some additional information for you. I downloaded the demo of Octane 2.06 and tried it with Yosemite. Although the application does start it can't find any Cuda cores and hence nothing renders
so in summary
Octane 1.55 - application doesn't even start
Octane 2.06 (Demo) - No CUDA cores found
Can someone form otoy please confirm whether or not Octane is compatible with Yosemite?
thanks

What GPU do you have? And I'm assuming it worked before you upgraded? Looks like another person is having the same issues, maybe there was a driver change in Yosemite?

That sounds like a questionable rumor. Others have been able to use CUDA with Yosemite, just needed to make sure they were using the most current CUDA driver.SimonJM wrote:I have no idea if this is true or not, but I recall reading (somewhere, sadly I cannot recall where, may even have been on these fora!) that Apple were 'actively' disabling CUDA support in their OSs.
It works
i have just updated the CUDA drivers with this version:

and all works as expected, great
