Can anyone get an HDRI map to render in 3DS Max? Tried everything I know and cannot get any results. Sunlight with added environment, etc. Environment added under render menu, etc.
Nada. (HDRI environment makes stainless materials come alive, chrome, mirror, etc.)
Help greatly appreciated

Hi,

go to render menu->Environment.
In the environment slot put Octane Environment Texture.
Click and Drag it to the MatEditor. In the Material Options choose Texture and add your HDR-File there.

Ciao
Andreas

Thanks Andreas. What had me confused a bit was you add the HDRI file as an RGB image which is different from Vray. And in Vray you would drag the material TO the environment slot instead of vice versa.

There's no difference.
