Hi!

Is it possible to render DL with Ambient Occlusion mode and still get windows reflection form inside of room? I'm rendering interior shoot and i need fast animation so i can't "afford" to wait for PathTracing verison to be done so I'd like to give it a try with AO but windows/glass (I have fake shadows ON) look kinda bad :).

Thanks for help

Hi Lewis,

I presume you're using a specular material for the glass? Have you tried using a glossy material with opacity at 90%? A light grey material usually works for me. Play with the reflection values until you get a desirable result.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Seeker

Have you tried the glass fake falloff material on the liveDB?

Well the material uses a glossy material with a falloff node plugged into the opacity. Gives a nice glass material and renders faster than real glass.

For simple materials you can always download it in Standalone and copy the node tree in LW ... the nodes and parameters are the same ;)
