Hi Paul
Seem to have found another bug. "General visibility (Octane)" does not work properly with keyframes.
If I keyframe an object to dissolve in or out Octane does not render the object, the only way I can get it to work is if I go to the end of the scene and refresh it then octane loads in the object that has the dissolve on it. I can then scrub through the timeline and the object is loaded and the dissolve works properly.
If I don't go to the end of the time line and hit refresh the objects with dissolve (octane visibility) on them don't get loaded so they don't render.
Problem is though you can't render out an animation cause when you try the scene refreshes again for the animation rendering and the objects with the dissolve on them don't render :x
Thanks
Keith

Hi Keith

The plugin will take the general Modo visibility of a mesh object for an animation sequence from frame 1 - so if dissolve is 100% at frame 1, it will be excluded from the scene. If you want to animate a mesh visibility - set it visible in Modo, and animate the Octane Mesh->General Visibility property/channel. Perhaps General Visibility should be tied to the Modo Dissolve (ie. Octane General Visibilty = 100% - Modo Dissolve) - although there are potentially arguments against this too. I would be interested in yours are other users opinions on this.

Hi Paul
Thanks for the quick reply.
I think it should be tied to modo's, conflicting parameters gets very confusing. it makes it very easy to make mistakes which end up costing time trying to figure it out.
I'm going to try your suggestion with the mesh visibility I think that's where I went wrong. I did it in modo first, then octane but did not clear out the modo settings.
Thanks
Keith
