It's a pity, that you can not reproduce that issue :(
I noticed that it isn't dependent on the scene. This is some kind of interface bug in the 2.1xx version. Even without any scene loaded, when I tried to click "Daylight animation", "Render imported animation" or "Turnable animation", Octane crashes immediately. I attached the crash log.

Windows 7 64 bit PL, Nvidia GTX 580 3GB, driver version 337.88.

After some testing Shakalakapaka found the reason why it's crashing on his system, but wasn't on ours: The script directory (File -> Preferences... -> Application -> Script Directory) wasn't set and caused Octane to crash.

To work around the problem, you have to set the directory to an existing, close Octane and open it again. After that the scripts should work again.

Of course, it shouldn't crash if that option is empty and we will fix it with the next release.

It seems like LUA is broken, at least on Win 64. To test the simplest scene, I use a sphere hooked to and render target. Each script I try crashes when closing the script with either 'exit' or clicking the X (window's close button).

Here's the crash for the noise-generator.lua (version .11). Open the script, click 'Export' then X (window's close button), crash.

Code: Select all

Same with turntableG.lua (Version 1.02).
Don't even need to load a scene. Just open the script and the dialog appears saying 'no render target selected'. Click 'Ok'. Crash.

Same happens with Ol Ready Cam.lua, etc.

Bug: Network rendering in different Clay Modes can create "ghost" renders.

Hello,

Very nice additions, the only issue I found is that PMC kernel doesn't render (any scene, even empty), this is what I get in log:

Code: Select all

OctaneRender version 2.11.1 (2110002)

PMC kernel: Unsupported compute model (52)
device 0: PMC failed
Win 7 64bit, GTX 980

Next week I will look into the new Maxwell GPUs.

It's no problem if you would need a tester Abstrax. I don't have it right now but I will have a 980 next week so I can test.

Abstrax,
My scripts directory is properly set. Still, Octane crashes when the above mentioned scripts are closed or exited. I even tried the Octane Windows 32 bit version and it does the same thing. These crashes also occurred in version 2.10.
