I was able to recently get my hands on a new (albeit weak gt640) Nvidia card... So I'm learning Octane once more! Yeah!

First stop.. Lighting experiments and getting to know texturing the Octane way...

Really nice work. I especially like the planet. How did you do the atmosphere edge? Circular gradient or what?

Well.... thanks, but the planet is just a back drop image I slid in on post.... sorry. :roll:

Ha Ha! Don't take it the wrong way: the whole composition is awesome! I love space scenes. Just when I did my own space scene with my attempt at a Stargate spaceship (which is nowhere near as good as yours) I really struggled to get the glowing atmosphere edge and ended up faking it.

Not a problem.. I would love to reproduce that glow as well. Started experimenting but came up with a whole planet (not much glow though...) and fooling around with Scatter as well:

If anyone has any ideas on creating the wonderful glow around a planet please let me know. In the meantime still experimenting...
